HotelTonight – San Diego Beaches Hotels Are Available

I've loved beaches since probably the day I was born. I grew up near a beach in the southeastern portion of the United States, and ever since then I've been extremely curious with regards to the comparisons that exist between beaches in different places. I have spent a lot of time on the beaches of Southern California, but most of that time has been spent in Los Angeles County. Recently, I got a chance to see what the beaches of San Diego County were all about, and I made sure to make the most of that opportunity. I immediately jumped into my car to spend a day touring the sands of San Diego. I wasn't concerned about finding a place to stay, either, as I always travel with my HotelTonight app. I'd wait to see where I wound up at the end of the day and then book a San Diego beaches hotel when it was time to get some sleep.

Ocean Beach

There are simply too many beaches in San Diego County to see in one day, but I'd take my time and see as many as I could, starting with Ocean Beach. This is not only a beach but also a community, and what's interesting about it is that despite its location on the water, there are almost no tourists there. It's a tightly-knit community, and the beach itself is large and winding, featuring an enormous pier that stretches out over the ocean. There is also a dog beach here, one of two in the county where dogs can run off-leash, and it's also a popular spot for surfers.

Pacific Beach

I decided to move in a northbound direction that day, so my next stop was Pacific Beach. This was another long stretch of beach with white sand, but the vibe here was a bit different from Ocean Beach. The people who live and otherwise spend time here tend to be younger and from different places. I found out while there that Pacific Beach, or "PB" as it's known to the locals, is a popular spot during spring break every year.

Moonlight Beach

I ended my day in the North County portion of San Diego. I wanted to see Moonlight Beach in Encinitas. Once again, this was a gorgeous beach with white sand, and this was also a spot that seemed to play host mostly to locals. There are beautiful cliffs on both sides of the beach and there are surfers everywhere here as well. There's also a park near the sand for the little ones to play and a restaurant that served a surprisingly good hamburger.

HotelTonight – San Diego Beaches Hotels Near You

It had been a full day, and I was ready to get some sleep. I wasn't sure where I'd find the nearest San Diego beaches hotel room, but I didn't have to worry about that. I opened my HotelTonight app and it found me a room in seconds. I couldn't wait to take a hot shower and crash out, happy that I'd gotten a flavor for at least a few of the beaches of San Diego County.
