HotelTonight – Green Hills Nashville Hotels Just for You
There's something about Nashville, Tennessee that has always reached me on a deep level. I'm not sure what it is, but I do know that the more I explore it, the more likely it becomes that I will be able to identify it. I've been keeping my eyes open for opportunities to spend time in Nashville for a long time now, so I was absolutely thrilled after taking a new job that involved somewhat regular travel there for meetings. I have made the most of every chance I got to work there by extending my stays by 24 hours each time. I have used those 24 hours to explore one neighborhood per trip, as that narrows the scope of my wandering and it removes any time-related stress that can arise that relates to trying to see too much too quickly. On my last trip, I chose to explore the Green Hills neighborhood. I had never been there but had heard a lot about it. I wasn't concerned about accommodations, as I travel with the HotelTonight app. It would find me a Green Hills Nashville hotel room in seconds when I was ready for some sleep.
The Homes
The first thing that hits you when you arrive in Green Hills is the nature of the homes here. Basically, all of them are gorgeous, or at least the ones that I saw which were many in number. They are big, but they are also tasteful and are built in a lot of different architectural styles. You can see how this is such a desirable neighborhood, and you can also see a lot of children out playing in their yards. When you see children at play and people walking dogs, all saying hello to each other, you know you're in a friendly place.
The Shopping
I have to admit that I've never been in love with shopping. I tend to avoid situations that involve big crowds, a lot of noise, stressful competition to spend money as quickly as possible and the general bustle of malls. However, the shopping in Green Hills is nothing like that. I spent hours walking through small, local shops and quite a few different boutiques. I talked to other shoppers, store employees and a couple of the owners. I bought some things for myself and others, feeling comfortable the entire time.
The Food
It didn't surprise me that there were a lot of choices for food here, as nicer neighborhoods generally include such options. One of the ladies I talked to told me about an Asian food place just up the road from where we were, and I went in very hungry. I didn't leave that way. I had some lettuce wraps, dumplings and some chicken and rice that were delicious. I enjoyed a nice glass of wine with it and savored every bite.
