HotelTonight – Music Valley Nashville Hotels
You know you're in one of the world's great cities when, simply by being there, you immediately begin to experience a certain feel or vibe to the place. There aren't that many cities in my experience that have that effect on the vast majority of the people who live or visit there. Nashville, Tennessee is one of those places. I've been there many times going back to childhood, and even then I realized when I was there that I was somewhere special. I wanted to experience that feeling once again, and I recently had an opportunity to do so. I wound up on a layover for 24 hours in Nashville due to a cancelled connection, and instead of just staying in the airport hotel I wanted to spend that time seeing a certain part of the city. I had seen downtown, so I wanted to experience the Music Valley area. I had heard a lot about it and wanted to know what it was like to have fun there. I wasn't worried about lodging, as I use the HotelTonight app. It would find me a Music Valley Nashville hotel when I was ready for one.
The Indoor River
It became instantly clear when I arrived in Music Valley that this was a place where the locals lived like visitors. That's because there is so much to do here it's almost overwhelming. I heard about a convention center here that had a river inside of it. That's right--an indoor river. I had to see this for myself. Sure enough, there it was, and it was an incredible feat of engineering. I was told that there are "riverside shows" there regularly and that it's nice to have that available because you can enjoy the river regardless of the weather.
The Shopping
Music Valley is also a hub for shopping. Yes, you'll find a lot of touristy stores here if that's what you're looking for, and they are quite useful for people who are trying to find gifts and mementos for loved ones. I found the smaller, locally-owned stores much more interesting, as that's just how I prefer to shop. I spent some time walking around and browsing, and I found a few shirts, hat and some gifts for the people in my life. All in all, it was a pleasurable shopping experience, and I'm not easy to please in that regard.
The Food
You can't offer the public this many things to do without also providing them food options, and Music Valley does just that. I was starving, and for whatever reason I wanted a big hamburger and fries. I was told about a place that had been a hit with the locals, so I gave it a try. It was tremendous. The hamburger was not only large and juicy, but it was held together nicely by a delicious, crispy bun and extremely fresh toppings.
