HotelTonight – Owings Mills, MD Hotels Are Available
I had been to Baltimore many times both as a child, as I had family living there at the time, and as an adult more recently, as my job takes me there regularly. I have always found Baltimore to be an interesting, vibrant and beautiful place that obviously went through some tough times in recent years, but it was definitely on the upswing. One thing I hadn't been able to do for a long time was see what daily life was like in that area, as I was always too busy working to explore or even catch my breath for more than an hour or two at a time. I wanted to see Owings Mills, if I ever got the chance, as that's where we used to visit my family many years ago. On my last trip to Baltimore, I got that chance. I found out early in the morning on my last full day there that my schedule was suddenly wide open. I had 24 hours to myself. I wasn't worried about finding a place to stay, as I travel with HotelTonight. I'd book an Owings Mills hotel room when it was time.
The Baseball Museum
I have to admit it – I'm a big-time baseball geek. I love baseball and have since I was a little boy. I will go to MLB games, minor league games and American Legion games. You name it, and I'm there with a hot dog and a beer. I had never been to the Hubert V. Simmons Museum of Negro Leagues Baseball, which was in Owings Mills. I was like a little boy again, walking around excitedly as I saw incredibly fascinating exhibits of old-time equipment and other pieces of history. I could have spent the entire day there and been happy about it.
The Outdoors
One thing I wanted to do after spending so much time inside was to get out and enjoy the sun a bit on a nice day. I heard about a natural environment area nearby, so I decided that was my next stop. I made my way over there and spent a couple of hours on the hiking trails. The trail was mostly paved, save for a few muddy spots from a recent rain, and there wasn't much climbing involved. There was a lot of beauty, though, as I was under the cover of trees for most of my time there.
The Dining
I talked to a nice couple on the hiking trail that had enjoyed a great dinner at a Mexican restaurant the previous night, so that's where I wanted to go. The space itself was not fancy by any means, but the smells were out of this world. I had the flautas with rice for dinner, and they were unbelievably delicious. The flaky crust was perfect, the fillings were melted and tasty and the rice was the perfect texture. I had a nice beer with it and called it a great meal.

It was really nice to see Owings Mills again. It seemed relatively similar, but definitely bigger. Now it was time to find an Owings Mills hotel room. I opened my HotelTonight app and booked a room instantly. I couldn't wait to get some sleep and then tell my family where I had been that day.
