HotelTonight – Ripley West Virginia Hotels
You may not think that a town with a population of just over 3,000 is a great spot for a weekend getaway, but then again, you've probably never been to Ripley, West Virginia. While Ripley is certainly a small town, there is still plenty to do and see in and around the area. Not only is the town itself full of charm and energy, but the surrounding countryside is absolutely beautiful. I never knew just how beautiful West Virginia really was until I visited Ripley the other month. Since my trip to Ripley was rather spur-of-the-moment, I didn't have a hotel booked far in advance. Fortunately, I have the HotelTonight app on my phone, and I always use it whenever I need to find a great deal on a last-minute hotel. Within minutes on the HotelTonight app, I had booked a terrific hotel in the heart of Ripley, and I was ready to bask in the welcoming atmosphere of this small town.
Main Street
Small town Main Streets are some of my very favorite things. They are charming and picturesque, and they're also usually home to great local shops and restaurants. Ripley's downtown Main Street is exactly what I hoped it would be. This main drag has a bit of everything, from antique shops to small businesses, and you could tell that locals really love their Main Street. While in the area, I wandered the other streets of the downtown, and by the end of my short stroll, I had fallen in love with the quintessential small town of Ripley.
Parks and Recreation
Ripley provides some great parks and recreational facilities for its residents, which is yet another reason why locals love the quality of life in Ripley. While in Ripley, I visited the Cedar Lakes Conference Center, which offers 450 acres of recreational activities and is also home to the Mountain State Art & Craft Fair. Locals come here to exercise, play sports, and simply enjoy the beauty of their state.
Fourth of July
Believe it or not, but the small town of Ripley hosts the grandest, most celebrated Fourth of July party in the state of West Virginia. As soon as I heard locals raving about the celebration their town throws every year, I decided right then and there that I would return to Ripley in July. After all, I didn't want to miss out on the best party in the state.
