The Canals
Some of the most unique aspects of Ocean Shores are the canals. There are over 23 miles of freshwater canals that you can explore on boat. These man-made canals pass by houses and beautiful natural scenery, and they provide access to two of the lakes in Ocean Shores. If you don't have access to a boat, you can also explore these calm waters on kayak or canoe, but either way, you should definitely make an effort to visit these unique canals while in Ocean Shores.
Downtown
Ocean Shores is such a laidback beach town that there's not one major hub for entertainment and shopping. Rather, the downtown area is sprawling, and it embodies the city's easygoing atmosphere. But in this area of town, you'll find great restaurants and shops. So whether you're searching for a surf shop or a wine bar, you'll find it in Ocean Shores' downtown area.
