HotelTonight – Find Rooms in Kanab at the Drop of a Hat
During a recent trip through Utah, I found myself needing a break from driving and saw that I was near the town of Kanab. I've heard a lot of great things about the town, so I decided to pull off the highway and spend a day exploring the area. The Area
Kanab is located in southern Utah near the border with Arizona. It is located near a number of national monuments and national parks and is a great place to visit for anyone who loves the outdoors. It also is near the Jackson Flat Reservoir. In addition to the areas of natural beauty, Kanab is also full of history. There are Anasazi ruins in the area as well as a number of other interesting historical things. I could tell as soon as I arrived in Kanab that there was no way I'd be able to see everything I wanted to during my short trip.
Things to Do
I was amazed at how many national parks were just within a short drive of Kanab. I spent the first part of my time in the area visiting Bryce Canyon National Park and visiting the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Just seeing those places made my stop in Kanab worth it. After that, I decided to head into town and visited a museum that detailed the Kanab's connection to Hollywood western movies. It was a really cool museum and it was fun to learn the number of old cowboy movies that had been filmed in the area.
The Food
I was feeling hungry after my visit to the museum and wanted to try out the best that Kanab had to offer. I asked around and was led to a great little restaurant that served regional and new American cuisine. It was easy to see why the restaurant was so highly recommended. The food was amazing and the staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered a plate of wings and it was some of the best food I've ever had. I'll make sure I eat here again the next time I find myself in southern Utah.
