HotelTonight – Hotels in Chamberlain
Recently I found myself in Chamberlain, South Dakota with a day off from a series of business meetings. I had expected to return home on Friday evening after the last meeting, but when the meetings on Friday were canceled, I decided to spend an extra day in Chamberlain and return home Saturday. I knew I wouldn't have to worry about finding a place to stay, even on short notice, thanks to the HotelTonight app. I was free to enjoy a fun day exploring the city.
The Area
The town of Chamberlain is located in south central South Dakota and is in Brule County. The town has a population of just over 2,000 people and is on the banks of Lake Francis Case, which is a dammed portion of the Missouri River. Despite having a small population Chamberlain is filled with a number of great things to see and do. The town's motto is "one day just isn't enough," and it's easy to see why. As I pulled into Chamberlain, I could tell I was going to love my day in town and couldn't wait to get started exploring Chamberlain.
Things to Do
While I'd never been to Chamberlain, I'd heard about the town and some of the attractions there, including the Akta Lakota Museum. I love being able to see some of the local histories of an area so a trip to the museum was the first thing on my list of things to do. I loved being able to learn about the history of the Lakota people. It was such a powerful and moving experience. I will definitely recommend a trip to the museum to anyone who passes through town.
The Food
I wanted to try the best food that Chamberlain had to offer while I was in town and asked some locals where the best place to eat was. They directed me to a little place in town that serves pizza and wings. I was so glad I took their advice, because the food was great. I had a plate of wings that were to die for. I wish I could have eaten more, because it was so good. The pizza looked great too, I'll have to try it the next time I'm in town.

That night, as I relaxed in my room, I thought back on the day and was so glad I decided to stop in Chamberlain.
