HotelTonight – Lincoln City, Oregon Hotels
There are certain places in the world that are so beautiful, so alluring that they are almost magical. I've been all over the world many times over for work and for pleasure, so I speak from a foundation of experience when I say that there are very few places quite like this on the planet. The good news with regards to that reality is that when you're in one of these places, you tend to know it immediately. I've always felt that one of these places is the Oregon coastline. There's really nothing like it in the world, and the rocky formations and pristine sands that fall into the Pacific Ocean are enough to distract anyone from just about anything. I've driven through this part of the state many times, but I was always working and never had time to stop and enjoy myself. On my last trip, I found myself with a day to spare, and there was no doubt that I was going to spend it on the Oregon coast. Specifically, I wanted to spend my time in Lincoln City. I wasn't worried about lodging, as I had my HotelTonight app with me. I'd book a Lincoln City hotel room when it was time.
The Beach
When I got to town, I had to start with the beach. The beach is filled with pristine white sand and it stretches for approximately 7 miles. I think I may have walked all of it, as I spent hours walking along near the surf, listening to and smelling the ocean. I had a lot of breaks, however, as I wanted to take photos of just about every interesting rock formation I saw. There were a lot of them, so that took some time that I was happy to spend.
Downtown
After finding my center, so to speak, on the beach, I was ready for some civilization. I wanted to walk around downtown, which isn't that difficult in a city of fewer than 9,000 people. The downtown area looked like a postcard you'd get from the quintessential seaside town in New England or even in the United Kingdom. The buildings were classic looking but also quite clean and presentable, the streets were a bit hilly but welcoming and the people there all seemed to know each other. There didn't seem to be nearly as many tourists around as I would have guessed.
The Cuisine
I can't spend that much time near the ocean and not have some seafood for dinner. A lady in town told me about a cafe that specialized in local seafood and served Oregon wine with it, so that was clearly the choice. The place itself was simple – wooden tables and chairs, nothing fancy. The food was amazing. I had a plate of scallops, mussels, shrimp and a few small pieces of octopus. All of it was incredibly fresh and tasty, as was the wine that was paired with it.

I couldn't believe what a great day I had enjoyed. I was ready to get some sleep. I opened my HotelTonight app and booked a Lincoln City, Oregon hotel room in a few swipes. My room awaited and was only a few blocks away. I promised myself I'd find a way to get back to Lincoln City as soon as possible.
