Once home to a Nabisco cracker factory, this massive warehouse is now a mixed use development, and it's a huge hit among locals. Bakery Square is home to offices, boutiques and stores, and restaurants. If you want to find some good food or some cool new clothes while you're in the East End, you should stop by Bakery Square. Even if you don't end up purchasing anything, you're sure to find plenty to love about the vibe and the aesthetic of Bakery Square.
The Theater
East Liberty happens to be the hometown of two major entertainment stars, Gene Kelly and Billy Strayhorn, which is why today you can catch a show at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater. As East Liberty's renaissance continues to gain steam, the area will undoubtedly attract more and more artists and entrepreneurs, which is why it's such an exciting area to visit. You can already sense the creativity and energy in the neighborhood, whether it's in local galleries or at the theater. Either way, it's easy to tell that this Pittsburgh neighborhood is on the verge of something exciting.
