HotelTonight – Fort Bragg Hotels Are Available

When you drive nearly every day for your job as I do, the routine can sometimes become a bit boring or drab. For obvious reasons, I almost always take the fastest path between two points on my schedule, as I have things to do and people to see. However, lately I've been battling a case of the blahs, but when I'm in that state I simply remind myself of why I'm in my car. Still, it'd be nice if, even once in a while, I had the opportunity to take even a little time to myself to see somewhere new. I had several circumstances fall into place while driving through Northern California recently. First, a meeting I had in San Francisco ended early, so I used the extra time to drive up the Coast Highway. As I was doing so, I got a call from my office. It seems that something came up and my meetings for later that day had been canceled. Here was my chance. I decided to stop for the day in Fort Bragg. I wasn't worried about finding lodging, as my HotelTonight app would find a Fort Bragg hotel room as soon as I needed one. It was time to explore.

Glass Beach

As soon as I pulled into town, a local I was talking to while getting coffee told me about Glass Beach. I hadn't heard of such a place, but I made my way over there. I'm glad I did, as I've never seen anything like it. The beach is comprised of sea glass that was made from years of garbage dumping up the coast. There were a lot of people there, and some were taking a few pieces for memorabilia, but that's discouraged, so I didn't do so. I took a lot of photos, though, as it was beautiful.

The Botanical Gardens

My next stop was up a bit in elevation, specifically at the top of a large cliff overlooking the ocean. The Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens are there, and this is another natural wonder I had heard about. Once again, I made the right decision, as the area is filled with beautiful native plants. It looked like one of the lushest gardens I had ever seen, yet only a few feet away was a drop-off into the Pacific Ocean. I spent a couple of hours there taking more photos.

The Dining

With all that time spent on the coastline that day, I was in the mood for some seafood. A lady at the gardens told me about a place that was on the docks that served some of the best around. I was in, so I went over there and found what looked like a simple house with deck seating. I sat down and had some of the best, tastiest and crispest fish and chips I had ever tasted in my life. The fish was obviously incredibly fresh, and the chips were done just right as well.

HotelTonight – Fort Bragg Hotels Near You

I was full, happy and ready for some rest. I opened my HotelTonight app and booked a Fort Bragg hotel room in seconds. It was just up the road, so soon I'd be sleeping in a comfortable bed, thrilled that I had cured my case of the blahs.
