HotelTonight – Book Valley City Hotels
I was driving through North Dakota on my way to visit friends in Minnesota. I had been on the road for hours and needed a break, so I decided to pull off the road in the small town of Valley City and spend the afternoon exploring the area. I wouldn't have a problem finding a place to stay, even on short notice, thanks to the HotelTonight app, which left me free to enjoy my day in town.
The Area
Located in the southeastern part of the state, Valley City is a small town with a population of just over 6500 people. The town is in Barnes County and is near the scenic Sheyenne River. It's also home to several bridges, which has earned Valley City the nickname of the "City of Bridges." This was my first time in Valley City, but I could tell I was going to love my day in Valley City. I couldn't wait to start exploring the town and seeing all the things that the town had to offer.
Things to Do
I decided to start my day off with a visit to the Barnes County Historical Society. I was glad I decided to visit the museum, because there were so many great exhibits. I loved seeing the skeleton of a triceratops and many of the other exhibits. After my trip to the museum, I spent some time checking out some of the bridges in town. It was fun to see some of the cool architectural designs in the city. The Hi-Line Railroad Bridge was especially cool. There were a lot of other cool activities in town that I would have loved to have checked out if I'd had more time in town. I might have to make another trip to Valley City.
The Food
I wanted to make sure I got the best food in town, so I asked some locals where I should eat. Several people directed me to a great little pizza place in town. I ordered a delicious personal sized pizza and thought it was delicious. The food was great and the service was fantastic as well. I'll be sure to come back for another slice, if I find myself in Valley City again. The meal was a great way to cap off my day.

After I'd finished my pizza, I was feeling tired and wanted to get some rest and relaxation. Sometimes I've had trouble booking a hotel room on short notice, but thanks to the easy to use HotelTonight app, I didn't have any problem finding a place. I opened up the app and, in a matter of minutes, I'd booked a room in town. I was so glad I decided to break up my drive by spending a day in Valley City. I loved the small town and hope to come back soon. The next day I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to finish my drive to Minnesota.
