HotelTonight – Kingdom City Hotels
Recently, I was in Jefferson City and had planned to meet a friend. But when plans changed and my friend couldn't make it, I decided to take advantage of my day in the city and spend some time exploring the Kingdom City area. I knew that finding a place to stay wouldn't be a problem thanks to the HotelTonight app, which let me enjoy my day in Kingdom City without any stress or worries.
The Area
Located in the Jefferson City Metropolitan Area, Kingdom City is a small village in Callaway County. Kingdom City is a small town with a population of fewer than 200 people, but despite that, there is a lot of great things to see and do in town. It also is surrounded by beautiful scenery and is near Guthrie Lake and the Little Lake Dixie Conservation Area. It is near several larger cities and is just a short drive from Jefferson City, Columbia, and is about an hour and a half west of St. Louis, which makes it a great stopping point for anyone looking to see Central Missouri.
Things to Do
I started my afternoon in Kingdom City off with a visit to a little shop off the highway called Ozarkland. It was a fun place to stop, and I bought some of the best fudge I've had in a long time there. The shop also had little knickknacks and souvenirs, as well as an old-fashioned soda fountain and other snacks. I also visited the Fire Fighters Memorial in Kingdom City, which was a really cool experience. It's a beautiful area and pays tribute to firefighters across the state. It was nice to see such a beautiful memorial.
The Food
In the evening, I started feeling hungry and wanted to get a bite to eat. Whenever I visit a new area, I love trying the best local food in the area, so I asked around for suggestions on where to grab dinner. Several people recommended I go to Buckshot Saloon Homestyle Cooking and BBQ in town, so I headed over there. I was glad I picked that restaurant as soon as I walk inside. The atmosphere was really cool, and everyone was very friendly. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich that was so delicious. I'll make sure to come back to Buckshot, the next time I find myself in the area. It's so good that just eating there will make visiting Kingdom City again worth it.

After dinner, I was feeling ready to get some rest and relax for the night. I opened the HotelTonight app and was able to book a nice room with no hassle. It only took a few minutes to find a room in town, and I didn't have to worry about expensive fees or anything like that. As I relaxed in my room and thought back on the day, I was glad to spend the day in Kingdom City, even though my original plans fell through. It's a great town, and I can't wait to come back.
