Before I had even received my food at the restaurant, I already knew I wanted to spend more time in this unique Western town. There's so much to do and see at this historical center that I could have easily spent an entire day there, but I had to cut my visit short so that I could go explore the historic Old Trail Town, a collection of historic pioneer buildings that have perfectly preserved. After just one day in Cody, I felt like I really understood what life was like back in the days of the Wild West.

Given its location in Wyoming, Cody is a haven for outdoors enthusiasts. The surrounding natural landscapes provide boundless outdoors recreation, from fishing and kayaking to hiking and hunting. Cody is one of the best home bases for exploring the famed Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone is one of the most celebrated national parks for a reason – it's absolutely breathtaking. Plus, it's home to unique sights like the Old Faithful geyser and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
