HotelTonight – Auburn Washington Hotels
Auburn, Washington is a suburb of Seattle, but you don't have to drive all the way into Seattle to get your fix of fun and excitement when you're in Auburn. This city has a population of 70,000, so it's certainly a small, boring town in the middle of nowhere. When I recently visited Auburn, I was actually surprised to discover how much there is to do and see in the area, and I developed a soft spot in my heart for this lovely Pacific Northwest town. I originally chose to stay in Auburn because I needed to be in Seattle for business, but I wanted to stay in a new city in the Seattle metropolitan area, since I had visited Seattle many times that year already and wanted to explore a new area of the PNW. Thus, I chose to stay in Auburn, Washington, and I found a great hotel in a matter of minutes on the HotelTonight app. Just like that, I was ready to explore a new city in Washington.
Downtown
Downtown Auburn has roots that date back for 120 years, which is why you'll find lots of old buildings and historic sites in this downtown district. Recently, downtown Auburn has experienced a renaissance, so there's more excitement and energy there than ever. There are many great restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues located downtown, and it's where locals go to enjoy a night out or a casual drink after work. It's also where I chose to stay while in Auburn, since I love being able to walk to restaurants and shops when I travel.
Parks
Pacific Northwest locals love their public outdoor spaces, and I can't blame them – the PNW is just naturally green and breathtakingly beautiful. There are a number of public parks in and around Auburn, where locals get active and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Some of the most notable parks and trails include the Auburn Environmental Park, Cedar Lanes, Fenster Nature Park and Les Gove. I tried to visit as many parks as I could while in Auburn, but there are simply too many to visit in just one trip.
Entertainment
Auburn may not be a huge, bustling city like Seattle, but this city does actually have quite a vibrant entertainment scene. From the Auburn Arts and Culture Center to the Emerald Downs Racetrack to the White River Amphitheater, there is so much going on in Auburn's entertainment scene, which is yet another reason why Auburn locals love their city so dearly.
