I was in Salt Lake City to meet a friend, but after the friend had to cancel, I decided to head up to Heber City in Wasatch County and explore a part of the state I hadn't spent much time in. Thanks to the HotelTonight app, I knew I'd be able to book a great room in Heber City in minutes flat, even on short notice. The app took all the worry out of making an unplanned trip and allowed me to enjoy my time in Heber.
The Area
Heber City is located in Wasatch County and is located on the Wasatch Back of the Wasatch Mountains. The city is surrounded by three large reservoirs which add to the natural beauty of Heber City. The city is home to more than 11,000 residents and is big enough to have all the comforts of a city, but still small enough to retain the character and friendliness of a small town. I hadn't spent much time in Heber City, but after spending a day there, I was in love with the city.
Things to Do
Heber offers a number of things to do and see. The location of the city makes it the perfect place to explore the outdoors. The town is a short drive from the Wasatch Mountains and is surrounded by several beautiful hiking trails. The closeness of the three reservoirs also makes it easy to take a short trip to the lake and enjoy one of the many activities there. Heber City also has plenty of stores with a nice mix of trendy local shops and big name chains, letting you get everything you need in one spot. I could have spent a week trying all of the different things Heber City has to offer and still not have done everything.
The Food
There are so many great places to eat in the city. As I was making my way through town I noticed another great looking restaurant every few blocks. I wanted to be sure I got to try the best food the city had to offer, so I asked some locals where they'd recommend. They pointed me in the direction of a great diner that served breakfast all day. I ordered an omelet and hash browns, and it was so good. The omelet was filled with fresh vegetables and ingredients and the hash browns were perfectly cooked. The meal was great, and I'll be sure to come there again, during my next trip to Heber.
