HotelTonight – Book Hotels in Minot at the Drop of a Hat
I was recently on a long drive through North Dakota on my way to visit family in Minnesota. After hours on the road, I was feeling tired and wanted a break. I pulled off the highway in Minot and decided to see what the city had to offer. Thanks to the HotelTonight app, I knew I wouldn't have to worry about the stress of finding a place to stay, even on short notice. I couldn't wait to start my day in town and couldn't wait to start exploring Minot.
The Area
Minot is located in the northwestern part of North Dakota and is the fourth-largest city in North Dakota with a population of more than 48,000. It is one of the most exciting places to visit in the state. The Souris River runs through Minot and is one of the only major waterways in the city. The town is also home to Minot State University and hosts a vibrant arts scene. I could tell as I pulled into town off the highway that I was going to love my day in Minot.
Things To Do
I started my day out by visiting the Scandinavian Heritage Park. I learned that around 40 percent of Minot residents have Scandinavian heritage, and the city does a great job of honoring the roots of many of its residents. The park was really cool and featured a traditional Scandinavian stave church. It was really cool to see some traditional architecture on display. After that, I headed to the Dakota Territory Air Museum. The museum featured a lot of old military planes. Minot is home to a large air force base, and it was really cool to see so many historical planes.
The Food
When I left the museum, I was feeling hungry and wanted to get something to eat. I was hoping to try the best food that Minot had to offer, so I asked some locals where I should eat. They directed me to a great little diner in town. The diner served classic American and German food, and everything on the menu looked great. I ordered some chicken that was grilled with mushrooms, onions and covered in Swiss cheese. It was delicious, and I would have loved to have been able to at more. I'll eat there again during my next trip through Minot.

After I finished dinner, I was feeling ready to turn in for the night and decided it was time to find a hotel for the night. I pulled out my phone and opened up the HotelTonight app and, in a matter of minutes, I'd found a great place to stay right in the heart of Minot. That night, as I relaxed in my hotel room, I thought back on the day and was so glad I stopped in Minot. It was a great way to break up my long drive through the state. The next day, I woke up feeling ready to hit the road again and finish my drive.
