HotelTonight – Polson Hotels
While making a long drive across the state, I needed a break and pulled off the highway in Polson. I was looking forward to spending a relaxing day in such a beautiful part of the world, after hours of driving, that was just what I needed. I knew that I'd have no trouble finding a place to stay, even on short notice, thanks to the HotelTonight app. Knowing I didn't have to stress about where I was going to stay, left me free to enjoy a fun and relaxing day in Polson.
The Area
One of the first things I noticed about Polson, as I pulled into town, was the sheer beauty of the city. Located in northwestern Montana, it is near the Idaho-Montana border and is found in Lake County. The small town is surrounded by mountains, trees and the beautiful Flathead Lake. The town is so picturesque, it could be on a postcard. On the day I stopped in Polson, it was a gorgeous summer day, and I couldn't wait to get out of my car and explore the city.
Things to Do
For being a small town, Polson has a lot to see and do. The city is in a great spot for nature lovers, and I decided to start my day in town by taking a walk. I followed a path that led down to Flathead Lake and spent some time there before heading back up into town. Once I got into town, I noticed that Polson is home to an art gallery and a museum. I decided to visit the museum and had a great time learning about the history of the area. I could have spent hours in the museum looking at all the interesting things that were there.
The Food
After taking a hike by the lake and enjoying the sights of the town, I was ready to get something to eat. I made my way to a small local diner that I had heard good things about. I was glad I decided to eat there. Everything I had was perfectly made, and the staff was friendly and helpful, as well. I ordered a chicken sandwich, and it came with lettuce and tomatoes that tasted like they were fresh out of the garden. I topped off the meal with a chocolate milkshake that was so creamy and good, I'll be dreaming about it.
