HotelTonight – Glendale Milwaukee Hotels
Milwaukee is one of those cities where, if you travel a mile, it may seem like you've traversed the entire solar system in terms of culture. That's because throughout its rich history, different people across parts of the world settled in groups in specific areas of the Beer City. You may be in a historically German neighborhood one minute only to find yourself in a Polish neighborhood the next. It's one of the more fascinating aspects of this Rust Belt metropolitan area, and I've always had a good time there. Recently, I was in Milwaukee on business when suddenly, on the morning of my last full day there, I found out that all of my meetings that day had been canceled. I wanted to use that time to explore a part of the city I had not yet seen. I hadn't been to then northern portion of Milwaukee much, so I decided to spend the day checking out Glendale. I was going to just stay up there, and I wasn't concerned about finding a place. I travel with HotelTonight, so I'd simply book a Glendale hotel room as soon as I was ready to call it a day.
The Parks
One thing I always got used to while in Milwaukee was the fact that it was an urban city for the most part. It was beautiful, but when I was downtown or in nearby neighborhoods I understood that a lot of people had once lived in a condensed area. That didn't seem to be the case in Glendale. There were parks all around, and I spent a couple of hours walking through one that was so full of trees I could barely see the sun. There were a lot of locals out that day with their dogs, having a good time.
The Schools
In a community of just over 12,000 people, the last thing I expected to see was more than one college campus. In fact, I counted three of them before the day was over. They were small, of course, but I spent time on all of them and they were quite lovely. I walked through the campuses, talked to the students and enjoyed the sun much as a local would do on a warm spring day. I also bought some memorabilia from each, both for myself and as gifts for others.
The Dining
Almost no matter where you go in Milwaukee, you're going to find a really good place to eat. That was no different in Glendale. I asked a few students for recommendations, and I kept hearing about this German-style bier hall that was popular with locals. As soon as I arrived, I could see why, as I may as well have been in Munich. The wood trim and the old wooden benches were a classic look. The cold beer was served in steins and the sausage platter I had was nothing short of sublime.

I was full, tired and happy. I opened my HotelTonight app and booked a Glendale hotel room within a few swipes. It was just up the road, so I made my way to my car to grab my things, leaving it there, and walking to my room. I fell asleep happy to have experienced another part of Milwaukee.
