Earlier this year, I found myself in Ogden for a series of stressful meetings. When the final day of meetings was canceled, I decided to spend the day exploring one of the areas of the Ogden-Clearfield Metropolitan Area and headed for Uintah City. I knew that I'd be able to easily find a place to stay, even on short notice thanks to the HotelTonight app. So I headed over to Uintah, feeling excited to explore a new part of Weber County to see all of its offerings.
The Area
Uintah is located just south of Ogden and is placed right at the mouth of the Weber Canyon. The town has easy access to hiking trails, rivers and, of course, the Weber Canyon. It retains a small town feel while being close to big cities such as Ogden and Salt Lake City. It also is located near the scenic Weber River. As I arrived in Uintah, I noticed that it is perfectly situated to give visitors easy access to the outdoors, while still having all the comforts of a city. I was so glad I decided to spend the day in Uintah, as I loved the small town feeling that is abundant there.
Things to Do
When I arrived in Uintah, I spent some time wandering up and down the streets, and then decided to take a little hike in Weber Canyon. It was great to get outside and enjoy nature after a day full of meetings. After taking a nice hike, I decided to head back to Uintah and see what else there was to do. I spent time window shopping in town and noticed the city is home to several local shops and businesses.
The Food
I wanted to get a bite to eat somewhere that the locals loved, so I asked around for recommendations. Several people pointed me in the direction of a delicious local hamburger place. The food was great and so was the service. I ordered a cheeseburger and everything about it was amazing. The lettuce and tomato tasted so fresh, the bun was lightly toasted and the burger was cooked to perfection. After the burger, I ordered a chocolate shake for dessert. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I'll be sure to stop by there the next time I'm in town.
