HotelTonight – Find Yankton Hotels in Minutes Flat
I was in the town of Yankton to visit family, but when my relative got called away for work, I found myself with a free day in the city. I'd never been to the area before and decided to make the most of my day to see what the town had to offer. I knew that finding a place to stay wouldn't be a problem thanks to the easy-to-use HotelTonight app, which left me free to enjoy the city without anything to worry about.
The Area
Yankton is located in the southeastern corner of South Dakota and is the county seat of Yankton County. The town is on the banks of the Missouri River and has a rich history, as it was the original capital of the Dakota Territory. It's a beautiful area and a perfect place to visit for anyone who loves history or would like a nice place to stay with easy access to the outdoors or the Missouri River. I could tell I was going to love my day in Yankton and couldn't wait to start exploring the city.
Things to Do
The first thing I decided to do was check out the Dakota Territorial Museum. The museum was so cool and really gave visitors a look at the history of Yankton and the old Dakota Territory. Once I'd finished up at the museum, I decided to take a hike at one of the trails surrounding the city. The hike I chose featured a beautiful trail that led the Lewis and Clark Recreation Area. It was great to get outside and enjoy some beautiful scenery. There were several other activities I would have liked to have done, but didn't have enough time for. I'll have to check out what else the city has to offer during my next trip to Yankton.
The Food
Whenever I visit a new town, I like to check out the best local food the area has to offer. So I asked some locals, and they directed me to a Mexican restaurant in town. I was so glad I decided to grab dinner there, because the food was amazing. Everything on the menu looked delicious, and I ordered a burrito that was to die for. It was some of the best food I've had in a long time, and I'll be sure to eat here the next time I'm in Yankton.

After I finished up my burrito, I was feeling tired and wanted to get some rest after a great day in Yankton.
