HotelTonight – Book Your Hotel in Center City Philadelphia
Everyone knows that Philadelphia played a pivotal role in the history of the United States, and over the centuries this city has gone from a Revolutionary hub to one of the most vibrant cities in the country. Because I'm so fascinated by the history and modern culture of Philadelphia, I recently took a spur-of-the-moment trip to this major metropolis in Pennsylvania. I wanted to stay in a central neighborhood, where I could easily explore the hottest areas of Pennsylvania on foot, so I pulled up HotelTonight and booked a hotel in Center City Philadelphia. Center City has completely revitalized the downtown area of Philadelphia, and it's one of the most densely populated urban areas in the country. Because of this, many of Philadelphia's ambitious professionals and movers and shakers can be found in this desirable work-live-play environment. Since I wanted to enjoy the energy and excitement of this urban center like its locals, I worked with HotelTonight to find a great hotel in Center City, and just like that I was ready to head out and start exploring the vibrant streets of Philadelphia.
Chinatown
Whenever I travel, I try to get a good feel for a city's diverse population, which is why I spent an entire morning wandering through Philadelphia's Chinatown. Located in the Center City, this Asian enclave is where locals go if they want great Chinese, Thai, Korean or Vietnamese food. The eclectic mix of cultures in Chinatown gives it a unique vibe, and this diversity is one of the many reasons why Center City is such an exciting place for locals to live.
French Quarter
As I wandered through Center City, I stumbled upon a small, charming neighborhood that I quickly discovered was the French Quarter. On that warm spring day, people sat at small tables on the sidewalks and the cafes were packed with happy locals. I almost felt as if I were somewhere in France, and I immediately asked some locals for good restaurant recommendations in the area. That evening, I dined at a fantastic little French bistro, where I enjoyed authentic French cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere. By the end of my meal, I had fallen even more in love with Philadelphia.
Old City
While I prefer to avoid major tourist hotpots when I travel, I couldn't wander through Center City without strolling through the old, cobbled streets of the Old City. This historic neighborhood is home to many of Philadelphia's greatest sights, including Independence Hall and the Betsy Ross House. Even though I had already visited many of these historic sites, I still couldn't resist meandering through these charming streets and soaking in the neighborhood's Old World charm.
