HotelTonight – Minnetonka Hotels at the Drop of a Hat
Minneapolis/St. Paul, more commonly known as the Twin Cities, is a maze of different communities that each offer something unique to the overall makeup of this bustling metropolis. I've been traveling to the Twin Cities for many years, and every time I get the chance I take whatever time I have available to visit a community I haven't yet seen. The only regret I have is that most of the time, I only have a couple of hours to explore, so I feel somewhat rushed when I do get to a place. Regardless, it's worth the effort and something I'll continue to do. On my last trip there, a lot of different circumstances fell into place that led me to have an entire day to myself. I wanted to choose carefully before deciding where I'd spend 24 hours, so I thought about it for a bit. I remembered hearing about this suburb called Minnetonka, so I figured that would be a good choice. I wasn't concerned about finding my own lodging, as I always travel with HotelTonight. I'd book a Minnetonka hotel room as soon as I was ready to get some sleep.
The Shopping
I have to admit that I love to shop. I often remember certain places I've visited at least in part because of my shopping experiences there. Minnetonka is definitely a destination for people who like to browse and buy. I spent hours walking through all sorts of little specialty shops that sold everything from clothing to accessories to knickknacks for your home or office. I had a wonderful time talking to other shoppers and to the owners and employees of these establishments. This is a friendly place with a strong sense of community, and I probably spent more than I should have.
The Park
After all that time inside, I wanted to enjoy the outdoors on a beautiful day. A lady at one of the stores told me about some great hiking trails in a place called Purgatory Park. I found it and took off on the nearest trail. It was a gorgeous hike. I walked among old oak and maple trees, across wooden bridges and into woodlands I never expected to encounter in such a large city. The planners here did a great thing in keeping this land as-is, and they did an even better job building it.
The Dining
After all that exercise, I was quite hungry and for some reason I felt like pizza. A couple on the path told me about a local place that served great pies, so I gave it a try. I'm glad I did. This was very well-done pizza, with smoked meats for toppings and true Italian olives to go with it. The crust was perfectly cooked in what had to have been a wood-fired oven, and the local beer I had with it made the entire meal come together.
HotelTonight – Minnetonka Hotels in Seconds
I was very full and quite happy that I had gotten to see another part of the Twin Cities. I opened my HotelTonight app and booked a Minnetonka hotel room instantly. It was only a block away, so I grabbed my bag and immediately fell into bed. HotelTonight came through again, as always.
