HotelTonight – Sedona Hotels at the Ready

Imagine my frustration when I found out, at the airport on my way to Sedona, Arizona, that both of my friends had fallen ill and that they would not be able to join me there for the weekend. I understood, as it's no fun traveling when you're sick, as it makes having any type of fun impossible. We decided to cancel the reservation, as I didn't need an entire condo for myself. I did keep the rental car, as I wanted to spend a bit of time exploring the area and I was already at the airport. It wasn't the best of situations but I told myself there are many worse places to go randomly than Sedona. The only potential problem, I suddenly realized, was that I would have to find a hotel room in Sedona in short order. I wasn't sure what to do.

I pulled out my phone and searched for Sedona hotels on the HotelTonight app. I had steeled myself for a potentially long process as I waited for my flight, so I had time to kill. Much to my surprise, I didn't need hardly any time at all. HotelTonight presented me with several options for Sedona hotels, all of which were immediately available. I looked them over, chose one and had a room booked within a few minutes. Now that I was just waiting for a flight again, I started looking at things to do in the Sedona area. I came up with a plan and by the time I landed and got settled I was ready to roll.

Uptown Sedona

It made sense that the first place I'd check out was Sedona itself, particularly Uptown Sedona. There are a lot of old homes here, including some red rock cabins which I find totally unique and interesting. There were shops seemingly everywhere here, so I spent some time browsing and thinking about what my friends would want as gifts. I couldn't leave them behind and return with nothing, but I decided to move on and take care of them a bit later after I had a chance to see more of the area.

Oak Creek

If you want to golf, come to this part of the area. Oak Creek seemed to have golf courses around every corner, and these are not your ordinary courses. I was obvious that these were high-end, top-of-the-line golf courses made for the serious golfers and visitors. There were also a lot of very nice homes here and once again friendly people seemingly at every turn. I decided to grab a cup of coffee while I was in the area, and I was glad I did. It was just the energy and flavor boost I needed to continue on with my day of exploration.

Red Rock Loop

My previous two stops had been lovely, but they were surprisingly busy places in terms of how many people were around, doing what they do. I found my way to Red Rock Loop and immediately realized that I had found what seemed like something out of the Old West. I decided to do a bit of hiking near National Forest, and boy did I work up an appetite. Fortunately for me, there were plenty of choices for restaurants nearby. I decided on something relatively light because I'd be moving around a lot for the rest of the day and didn't want to get too full. I had a delicious meal of local produce, but it was still quite filling.

The Chapel Area

If you want to see something truly beautiful, something that looks as though it rises directly from the surrounding natural formation, go and see the Chapel of the Holy Cross. This stunning piece of architecture took my breath away. It also fit relatively neatly into the nearby neighborhood, which was relatively quiet and serene. This seemed to be a place where people settle down to live, as there were lovely homes in every direction.

West Sedona

I decided to end my day of exploration in West Sedona, which was a hub of activity. Shops, grocery stores and all types of business operate here, and the locals do their part in keeping them all busy. I was hungry again, and this time I wanted something truly southwestern, as it was dinner after all. I asked some of the people I saw for recommendations, and before I knew it I was sitting in a quaint little restaurant ordering a huge meal for myself. It was worth every second of anticipation, and it made me wish I had a clue how to cook with these spices and flavors.

HotelTonight – Sedona Hotels Made Simple

It had been quite a day, and there were still a couple more on the calendar. Now that I had seen a lot of things in the area, I could begin to hone in on what I really liked and spend more time in those places. The trouble was that I really liked everything, so this would not be an easy decision. Thanks to HotelTonight, I found a hotel room in Sedona in no time and in a situation where things could have gotten quite stressful very quickly. I reminded myself to tell people about HotelTonight. Everyone should be able to find rooms without stress and hassle.
